PMS is not the same for all of us and homeopathy acknowledges that. Do you see yourself in any of these frequently used homeopathic remedies? 😉

Sepia - irritability & feeling worn down, wants to be alone (in particular away from husband and kids!) Sluggishness, with a dragging down feeling in the uterus. They feel as if their pelvis is literally going to fall out and need to cross their legs. Worse before, during and sometimes after their period. What makes Sepia feel better? Vigorous exercise! A run, a fast walk or wild dancing often does the trick!

Pulsatilla - weepy and feels depressed before her period comes on. She feels sorry for herself, and much better for a cry on a trusted friend's shoulder. Premenstrual headache, one sided, heavy feeling. Feels heavy pressure in her lower back but her symptoms are changeable, always shifting. Pulsatilla feels worse for moving about but much better outside in the open air; she can't bear stuffy rooms!

Cimicifuga - depression and confusion, as if she has a dark cloud hanging over her, with hip pain and a heaviness in her head going down the back of her neck. Skin breaks out in large, white spots and things don't get much better for during her period. Thinks she's going mad, and when her period does arrive, it's heavy and she has to bend over double to relieve the pain. Changes in weather make Cimicifuga feel much worse, but keeping warm and resting helps!

Magnesia Carbonica - PMS brings a whole mixed bag of physical complaints for Mag-Carb! As well as feeling irritable, unloved and a bit partial to an argument, they feel super chilly but strangely need to get out in the fresh air. Mag-carb also gets a runny nose but it can be blocked at the same time, and often a sore throat before her period. When her period does come on (it's often late) she still feels cold, with a heavy head, and labour-like pains in her abdomen or lower back. In general she feels worse every third week, at night time and in the cold weather. What makes her better? Warm soup, and the gentle motion of walking about.

You might not see yourself in any of those remedies, but don’t worry, there are literally thousands!
